In the Philippines, a weird one-eyed dog with two bulging enormous tongues and no nose was born.
Unfortunately, the puppy did not live more than a day.
On February 6, it was delivered with another seemingly normal baby in the country’s Aklan region.
Aside from its prominent one eye, it could not sip milk from its mother since it lacked a nose.
Amie de Martin, a local resident, claimed they gave it puppy food and took it to a doctor in the hopes that the small canine, called ‘Cyclops,’ would live.
It didn’t make it until the next day, dying about 10 p.m. that night because it couldn’t breathe correctly.
The veterinarian for the bereaved pet owner believes the mother dog consumed poisons while pregnant, which caused the puppy’s illness.
‘The vet indicated Cyclops’ mother probably ate something terrible,’ Amie explained. However, Cyclops’ mother is a menopausal puppy, so that may be another explanation.
‘Cyclops was unable to sip milk from her. We had to use a dropper and powdered milk to feed him.’
Instead of burying the deceased dog in the yard, Amie chose to keep it in a glass box as a memorial to the treasured animal.
The puppy was thought to have Cyclopia, an uncommon illness that affects mammals and other animals.
It is caused by a genetic abnormality or chemicals that interfere with brain development.
