Animals and insects that resemble lovely flowers are uniquely and effectively deceiving. Therefore, be cautious while sniffing flowers up close because some of them may actually contain insects or animals.
Farm owner Margaret Neville of South Africa observed something moving on a lavender bush while she was wandering around her property. As she got closer, she saw that it was an intriguing bug that was unlike anything she had ever seen.
The small, seemingly delicate animal is referred to as a spiny flower mantis, or Pseudocreobotra wahlbergii. Sub-Saharan Africa is home to this type of praying mantis. This species has evolved to blend in nicely with floral environments.
The amazing bug was almost like a piece of art. Her torso was covered in tiny, purple flower-like structures, and her white and green wings were highlighted with a swirl that resembled an eye.
She sent Kerri Martinaglia, a friend, the picture right away. Naturally, Martinaglia shared the same level of admiration.
Martinaglia told The Dodo, “When I saw her, I thought she was a wonderful work of art.”
Martinaglia posted pictures of the unique mantis on social media, and people from all over the world expressed their admiration for it. The fact that such an animal actually exists astounded them.

Neville named her Miss Frilly Pants and then put her back in the lavender bush. She has lived off of my lavender for the entire month of September, according to Neville. She is still present right now.
