For the past four years or so, OJ, a 12-year-old dachshund, and Blue Doze, a gentle pit bull, had more in common than just a commitment to friendship. Since his friend has been guiding him around the world, the elderly and blind dog put all of his trust in him.
Recently, Blue Dozer shown that he will unquestionably never abandon his friend for whatever in this world. Sadly, both of these animals’ owners were homeless after losing their homes. The woman decided to give her dogs up to a local shelter in Richmond in the hopes that they would find a loving home because she was unable to offer to care for them. In any case, she pleaded with the caregivers to keep them together.
According to Christie Chipps Peters, manager of the Richmond Animal Care and Control, “She stated they had actually been living in her vehicle for a while and she had actually been through some other personal stuff recently.” All she wanted was to move them into a new house together.
Christie and the other volunteers, however, soon came to understand the importance of the two dogs remaining together. The 6-year-old pit bull was not only his comforter but also his seeing eye companion because the elderly dachshund was completely blind. Furthermore, everyone was astounded by Blue’s compassion and gentleness toward his helpless companion. Therefore, everyone was aware that someone would soon express interest in these two wonderful puppies.
A combination like this is uncommon, according to Peters. “It’s really amazing and funny. OJ is a little little dachshund, followed by Blue, who is like this really tough, muscular guy. It’s adorable to see them together. They have been best friends for a long time, so they are aware of the importance of standing by one another. It looked like OJ was Blue’s little shadow when we would go outside.
To everyone’s surprise, a few days after the pair checked into the shelter, someone seemed to adopt them, and situations for both dogs were improving dramatically. Obviously, the condition was to adopt them both. All done, but then something dreadful occurred. The poor OJ was found standing by himself on the side of the road a few days after the dogs left the shelter for their new home. He may have recently been given the boot by his new owners!

The sanctuary said in a statement, “We very much value the outpouring of community support. “These great dogs reach stay together- and in the end, that’s what we have, and that’s all that matters. Over the next few days, we won’t do anything with OJ and Blue Dozer other than cuddle up to them.
