The Nile crocodile family has a “water monster” by the name of Gustave. It measures 5.1 meters from head to tail and weighs 907 kg. Gustave weighs about a ton and is thought to be older than 70. He is the largest crocodile known to have been sighted in Africa. Its native country is the East African nation of Burundi.
Gustave the crocodile is revered by the locals as a true beast. Having consumed numerous humans, it is also the biggest crocodile in the continent. On the banks of the Ruzizi River and Lake Tanganyika, the locals think Gustave attacked and afflicted at least 300 people.
In Burundi, there is a big male nile crocodile named Gustave. Locals say that he has killed up to 300 people on the banks of the Ruzizi River and the shores of Lake Tanganyika, making him one of the most feared crocodiles in existence.
Local newspapers once described this “beast” as crafty and savage. It will attack, kill a few victims in a certain location, then vanish, only to reappear later to hunt in different locations.
Despite being 100 years old, Gustave still has teeth that are as sharp as those of a newborn crocodile. Many creatures have been harmed and even eaten by its jaws.
According to scientists, because of his vast size, it is difficult to pursue animals like fish, antelope, and zebra that nile crocodiles often prey upon. He instead targets big wildebeest, hippos, and people.
