This is Nora Hall’s tale. Sadly, she only spent five months discovering this world. She had a terrible stroke that severely damaged her brain. She was later found to have pulmonary hypertension at birth. Her remaining days were numbered. She remained in an artificial coma for the following three weeks.
Her two dogs, Gracie and Grumpy, had grown to love Nora throughout her brief existence. Dachshunds, and Gracie in particular acted as an extra mother. According to Mary Hall, who spoke to ABC News, whenever Nora screamed, Gracie would rush over to investigate. She held Nora and checked on her often to make sure she was okay.
The Minneapolis Children’s Hospital questioned Nora for her final wishes as the family got ready to say goodbye. A resounding “yes” was given by Nora’s family. They enquired as to whether their two dogs might bid their young daughter a final farewell.
We would be extremely appreciative if you could leave our pets at the hospital with us. I wasn’t going to let them go home and find out where she was, Hall declared. The dogs were allowed to sleep next to her on the bed that had been made. Gracie rushed over to lick her right away.
It was incredibly lovely. said Mary. It provided us with a lot of comfort.
Every day, Gracie and Grumpy provide their family consolation. Sweet Nora, may you rest in peace.
