A dog with a broken paw was found by the St. Louis Street Rescue squad. According to ilovemydogsomuch, they wanted to save her but had no idea that doing so would save so many others. They discovered the dog had milk not long after they had saved her. They were therefore aware that this dog was a young mother and that she had puppies nearby. The rescuers were aware that they needed to search for them right away.
They went straight to the mother dog’s home in the bushes to see if her pups were there. In order to find a little den, the rescuers had to push aside branches and dig through the underbrush. Not just a few puppies, but 13 puppies resided in the hole in what appeared to be a “safe haven”! They were secure and toasty since their mother had well-hidden them.
Before transporting the mother and cubs to rescue facilities, rescuers carefully placed each cub in a container. They were able to give the mother and cubs the appropriate medical attention there.
All of the puppies are sterilized and placed up for adoption as soon as they are old enough, while the mother undergoes surgery to treat her wounded leg.
Stray Rescue of St. Louis is now seeking families to adopt the puppies. On their website, they provide information and offer classes.
