The other day, John Alexander Palomino Bendives was looking forward to unwinding in the apartment he shares with his mother and four dogs in Peru after spending the previous two weeks working in the field.
However, Bendives was called into action once more to save the life of his cherished dog Mina before he could even enter the structure.
Bendives’ appearance at the front of his apartment complex with his girlfriend wasn’t unnoticed by anyone. Mina and the other puppies were looking down over the railing from his family’s fourth-story rooftop apartment, happy to see him back home.
In a few seconds, Bendives would be standing to welcome them. However, Mina reportedly found that to be a little bit too long to wait.
Mina started to plummet to the street below, either having lost her balance and slipped or having miscalculated the distance and leapt. Fortunately, Bendives noticed right away and was able to grab her in his arms.
Here is a clip of the intense moment:
To his immense relief, Bendives was able to save Mina from what may have been certain death. to hers, too.
Bendives told The Dodo that the woman “was OK and unhurt.” “You can tell in the video that Mina was content and appreciative. She continued to wag her tail with delight.”
The moment Bendives arrived home, all of his puppies rejoiced. However, Mina was obviously a little bit excessive.
The family is considering making some modifications as a result of this terrifying experience, according to Bendives: “We are thinking at putting up a mesh [barrier] on the roof so that they may continue to sit up there, but without the chance of falling again.”
It’s the least they could do considering that the unthinkable occurred and catastrophe was nearly avoided.
I adore my animals, remarked Bendives. “They always welcome me with great affection and feeling. However, I make an effort to spend as much time as I can with them when I’m at home.”
