Men Went To Adopt A Siamese Kitten But Ended Up Being Chosen By A Gorgeous Blind Kitty

If you’ve read our previous posts, you’re probably familiar with Merlin, the Canadian Ragdoll cat who became famous for his perpetually angry expression. That is why we would like to introduce another feline Merlin (Merlin Griffith), who has become an internet sensation despite having an angelic face.

Merlin Griffith has milky bluish eyes and luxurious dark gray fur, whereas Merlin in Canadian has blue eyes and furrowed brows. Nathanial Green and Elliot Green are his parents, two visual artists who ran a visually stunning Instagram page dedicated to their beautiful pet, which has over 30 thousand followers.

Elliot and Nathanial first met Merlin in 2017 at the Lynchburg Humane Society (in Lynchburg, Virginia) during a “Free Cat Friday” event. They had always wanted to adopt a Siamese kitten and were hoping to find one on that particular day. Unfortunately, all Siamese were either on hold or had already been adopted.

Not to be discouraged, the couple continued their search and are overjoyed to have found Merlin. When he was a kitten, the little boy was brought to the shelter. Unfortunately, he was born mostly blind and small (water-bottle-size at the age of 2). He requires medical attention as well as a loving home.

“I was concerned when I first learned he was blind. I was worried that as a full-time student working two jobs, I wouldn’t be able to give Merlin the attention he required. I think it was pretty obvious as soon as I got to hold him that he was perfect.”

“He’s an affectionate cat who enjoys being acknowledged and held,” Elliot says. He is never destructive or petty. Because he was born blind, he has no concept of fear and will attempt to jump from great heights. He doesn’t run away or avoid people; instead, he’ll run up to the door to greet us and climb all over guests sitting on the couch. His favorite spot is on someone’s lap.”

Merlin found his forever home when he met his parents at the shelter. The family is overjoyed to have found Merlin, and they believe it is all thanks to shelters like the Lynchburg Humane Society.
